The AFC Hapannu Children’s Savings Account by Alliance Finance is designed to help children build a

Children with AFC Hapannu accounts will have a tree planted in their name at the AFC Hapannu Forest in
Dulgolla, Kandy - Sri Lanka’s first forest created by children, dedicated to the future generations of the
nation. This forest is also the country’s first public-private reforestation initiative, developed in
partnership with the Department of Forest Conservation. Each tree represents a child’s contribution to
building a greener future.
The AFC Hapannu account is also powered with the Hapannu Mobile App, which allows parents and
children to view their geo-tagged tree, track its growth, and explore free educative and engaging
content about the environment, wildlife and sustainable living.
The Hapannu Forest is part of AFC’s ‘One Million Trees for Unity’ project with over 1,022,447 trees planted across Sri Lanka.

- Should be a Sri Lankan Citizen
- Minimum deposit is 1000LKR
- Withdrawals can do after 18 years old
- Account will be automatically transferred to a Regular savings account at the age of 18 years to the Child.

As part of the AFC Hapannu Children’s Savings Account, the latest AFC Hapannu Circle initiative was successfully carried out at Udappuwa Beach in Puttalam, bringing children together to take action for a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
AFC Hapannu Circle project at Ratnapura
As part of the AFC Hapannu Circle initiative, an environmental clean-up programme led by young account holders was conducted in and around the newly developed Bus Station in the New Town area of Ratnapura.
Every step we take today to care for our surroundings helps foster a generation that values nature, understands the importance of giving back to society, and contributes toward a more sustainable future.

Through the AFC Hapannu Children’s Savings Account, we believe saving is not only about preparing for tomorrow, but also about nurturing a generation that grows with a sense of social and environmental responsibility.
This Children’s Day, together with AFC Hapannu account holders and their parents, the AFC Hapannu Circle initiated a programme to plant over 300 mangrove saplings around the Koggala Lagoon. More than planting trees, the initiative gave children a meaningful opportunity to experience what it means to care for nature and become part of something that can benefit generations to come.
This was not only about planting mangroves, but also about planting the values of a sustainable generation!
AFC Hapannu Circle project at Alikota Ara Reservoir, Wellawaya
AFC Hapannu account holders, their parents, relevant government authorities and invitees came together through the AFC Hapannu Circle programme to successfully complete a water conservation project around the Alikota Ara Reservoir in Wellawaya, taking a small step towards creating a cleaner and healthier future. This project was conducted by the AFC Wellawaya branch and the team of Region 8.
